Chad05GT, I'm looking at the same heads you have installed. What cam did you go with? I have the Comp Stage II springs required setup (their Stage III in older marketing material) but am thinking going with a lockout and a wilder cam over the winter.

John

I went with the same cam as you, I just used the limiters just to be safe. Man, I got in there and saw a little more wear than I liked and before I knew it I replaced gears, phasers, chains, tensioners, guides,... yea, it got outta hand! But hey, I got a 'new' top end ;)! Im hoping to get to the track this weekend or next.

I've seen post with similar set ups as mine dyno ALOT more than me;) My 4.56's and 92 degree Lo-Ez-Ana heat dosent help either. FWIW
I gained 45hp at 5K, 35hp at 5500, 82hp at 6K

, and 68hp at 6330, A/F 12.63 at peak(6330); 12.77 at 6800; flat 12.5-12.6 form 2600
From 5900-6800 above 350hp and bet. 310-285tq
Peak tq at 4250 (270 at 3K and 296.3 at 6330)

With your set up, you getting a custom grind?

That's where I'm leaning, but I want to get some final numbers when I race again in cooler October and November air. My 1/8 mile times and speed are still a concern and I want to get the absolute lowest numbers I can in the quarter before moving to the next round of changes. Since my suspension seems to be performing as it should I still think I can hit 12.00-12.20 with the 4.10 gears my overall setup. I wish the Greg Weld wheels were available so I could eke out just a bit more weight reduction but I'm not sure they will happen.

Feeling your pain, my gf dad just got in 15 Welds and MT slicks for his '68 Charger... SO LIGHT!! Feel as though they arent even real; or filled w/ helium! What are a good set of lightweight wheels and skinnies worth; about a tenth and a half? Thats some SAFE et drop :) I dont think Ill be getting to the track tonight... too much goings on, but, ya never know.

What gears are you running now?

We gotta try and get back in that top 5 NA LOL!

I'm running 4.10s. Everyone from my son to my tuner says to try 4.30s or even 4.56s, but I'm still screwing up the 1-2 shift enough that I'm not going there yet.

I called Greg Weld up and the guy claimed that "another 3-4 weeks" before the 15" wheels that supposedly fit over our brakes will be available, but I'm just not believing that. The 17" drag wheels are available (I think Nickoli here on the forum got them) but the weight loss isn't all that significant although the benefits of the front skinny are there. Maybe they'll come out before the last drag rental day of the season up here (Nov 15)...

The only other bolt-on I'm considering before the end of the year would be a GT500 throttle body, which I've heard isn't as problematic as the other aftermarket TBs, but I can't find any real world dialogue about actual benefits. In theory it could make sense but I'd like to see some before after dynos/time slips.

And yeah, I want a top 5 slot!
