Thanks for the explanation. I'm surprised nobody else thought of this concept before now. Seems like a viable safeguard, and looks good to!

Lol, welcome to 2013 Darren. ;-)

Wastegating a centri is old news, just isn't done that much. You get to spin the centri up a whole lot faster and build boost much sooner like a PD blower, but then bleed it off up top with the gate so you don't go hitting 20lbs up top.

There's a few threads on here all about a few guys doing this.

Looked into this and its not too uncommon. Im just glad that beefcake and the crew came up with a simple kit to make it a quick change out. Awsome job guys!

Cool... too bad this stuff won't pass California Smog requirements by the CARB (CA. Air Resource Board). Still, nice to know, for those not locked in by CARB.

I think the basic kit is Carb approved, Idk if a tech would catch that or not. Now the headers and cats are another story. That why for now I have on off road pipe rather than lt headers. Not so hard to swap out.

I'm really glad this FINALLY caught on. I was doing it with great success over two years ago with a big Procharger.

I picked mine up this morning. Installing the short belt this afternoon. Hopefully a trial run here in a little while.

According to Terry I should see around 12.6 psi with my setup.

I just finished the installation. I am running the 3.1 pulley with the 100" belt. I was shooting for around 12/13 psi with this combo.

I had to play around with the spring setup to get the boost I wanted. In my case I had to use the 14.5 lb spring combo to get 13, but it works like a charm.

The WG that Terry had fabb'd is an easy install. The boost curve is now amazing. it hits peak boost very quick, and never falls below 10 on the shifts. The car is an animal!!! Also, you can really hear the car blowing off the boost!! It's much louder than I thought it would be when it opens which is pretty cool.

If using the 3.1 pulley and 100" belt you need to use the middle hole on the idler pulley bracket. I set it up 3 times and that seemed to be the best.

Terry was great to work with. Even though he was working today he helped me a couple times with questions regarding the pulley location and springs.

I hope to post up some track times this week. I am sure I will have a new PB.

I assume I'll need to use the middle hole for a 3.33" pulley and the 100" belt as I don't have any hope of getting the belt on using the 2nd hole from the passenger side (stock hole).

I had to move 2 slots looser than the stock setup as the new belt is 3" shorter while the 3.3" pulley is only 1/2" smaller in diameter than the 3.8" stock one. As it worked out, I still had to walk the belt on.

you were probably over 1 to far to start, lol.

if you had to walk it on, that's perfect, you'll be nice and tight now!! :)

Man do I wish I could afford a centri S/C and this WG!

Oh well. Maybe one day.

Great job Beefcake team!

thanks

Could this be made to work on a non-coyote application? Say a 4.slow?
