He's got it right, it's 255/45 in the front and 285/40 in the rear.

Your stockers are a little different then mine. Haha. Unless yours is a clone. Our pirellis are terrible.

I don't really drive stupid in the rain but traction control has saved my butt a few times. Haha.

Yea true my stockers are a little different lol.
I will most likely be going to invo's next and pick up a set of slicks for the track just because in the summer I drive the shit out of the car

^^^^ do you have that backwards? Isn't 45 rear cause it's taller right?

I'm not sure how this works but I can tell you a wider tire plays a role in how tall it is. For example, a 285/40/18 is taller then ur 255/40/18.

^^^^Heres a link that cal the tire size for you, I find it to be helpful. If you cal both 255/45 and te 285/40, you see there close in height.

Haha so do I! I just wait for the dry roads then it's on. It seems it's coming down to more of the size I want cause certain tires come in certain sizes. To me the invo looks like a good tire for 20's.

Man I've been outta performance tires too long. I've been into my 4x4. Tire sizes are easy 36" is 36" haha. Stupid metric system.

I bought my 18's already and the tire size options are horrible for 18's little to low profile for my taste. I got 18's to get away from that. Destroyed my 20's on two separate occasions.

I was thinking of a 295/45 in the back and 255/40 in the front. Anyone see a problem with running a smaller diameter in the front? I don't have tps but would it effect anything else on the car? I like the nostalgic look.

i wouldnt get the 295/45s unless you were doing it purely for looks from the side as it is well over an inch taller than 285/40s. performance wise, the 285/40/18s should hook basically as well, have a slightly stiffer sidewall which is better for handling, and from the rear look virtually identical. the 285/40/18 nt555s are 11.42" wide and the 295/45s are 11.54". not a big difference. plus the 295s will be heavier and taller which will slow you down.

im planning on doing 285/40s for the rear and 245/45s for the front. that will make the rear slightly taller (26.97" vs 26.57") and provide good width (not much skinnier than 255/45s), save weight over 255/45s, plus fit my 8" wheel better.

I think I'm gonna go with Nitto 555's 255/45/18 in the front and 295/45/18 rears. Unless Im missing anything there's about an 1.40" difference in height but they both look like they fit anyone see any issues with these sizes?

I still think you should copy the shelby and do 285/40/18

I love my 555/555R combo. If you're going to be running a lot on the road, but still want a DR the 555Rs are a good choice. Not the best track traction in the world of DRs, but a good mix of a Track/Street tire combo

Also, 295/45/18 is over 28" tall! What kind of gearing do you have? I have 4.10s w/ my 275/50/18 which is shorter then the tire size ur lookin @, & its crazy how the 4.10s dont feel like 4.10s when I drive w/ those tires on.

the 295/45/18 will not be a good "performance" size imo.

im pretty sure a 28" tire doesnt affect mine much at all...... if its too much tire than add more power!

I run the BFG KDW 2's in 245/45/18 for the fronts for my summer tire setup with MT DR/s in 305/45/18 in the back on ZE Boost wheels. I have a set of BFG's in 245/45/18 front and rear on Shelby Razors that I run the rest of the year. The BFG's are a great all around tire and give excellent traction wet and dry. They are a little noisier than some tires due to the aggressive tread pattern but offer great handling qualities. They even do well in the winter temps and I run them all winter. If you really need your car for a daily driver I wouldn't run DR's on the rear unless you can stay off high speed roads when they are wet. DR's in the rain IMHO are only good for about 45 mph and then only when driven carefully. It is very easy to lose it with a DR on wet roads.

I have stock gears right now but 3.90's going in shortly. I only go to the track 4 or 5 times a year so I'd rather have the look over the performance on this one. Plus the bottle does better on lower gears.

DR in the rain are prob the #1 reason why I see people crashing there stangs on here. I remember reading on here when a guy crashed doin 35mph w/ his DR.
