When a vehicle comes in with Multiple Fuel Pressure codes. This is the result we found.

.The fuel injection pump receives fuel from the fuel pump assembly, increases the fuel pressure from approximately 448 kPa (65 psi) to a PCM determined pressure up to as high as 15 MPa (2175 psi), and delivers it to the fuel railsar comes in with multiple fuel pressure codes. This vehicle has a High Pressure Fuel System.

We found that The Bushing that rides on the cam lobe that depresses the pump is worn. This is truly what happens when you DO NOT change your oil properly.

Somewhat expensive fix and obviously car runs like Crap

2175 psi is nuts. Is this normal ? The fuel rail pressure on my 2010 mustang is just 40 psi, but's before the injectors.

My 2011 Fusion, that I bought new back on Jan 2011, still runs like a top, albeit gas mileage around town, with plenty of stop and go seems to have dropped off in recent years..... but still superb on the hwy. This is with the 2.4 L 4 cyl / 175 hp eng..and 6 speed automatic.

We are checking that now. Does not appear that it did. Slight scratching. Nothing the customer is interested in fixing at this point.
Man from looking at your 1st post I wouldn't want to fathom checking them intake valves either......gotta be carboned up somewhat as well........

This vehicle actually belongs to the son of an employee. She gave him a stern talking to about taking care of his vehicle properly.

Common Rail diesels are 8-10 times that. See lower right for my Cummins fuel pressure (maxing out at almost 20K PSI).
