On Steeda's site they say the oil separator reduces detonation. How does that happen?
When crankcase gases get re-introduced to you air fuel charge it makes it not burn as well, lowering the octane, increasing chance of detonation.

Not to mention it gunks up your intercooler if you have a SC, and that inhibits the intercooler from doing its job properly.

Since most if not all of us added the catch can later...do you think the intercooler will self clean or should we by taking our intake manifolds apart to clean them out?
i would think that running a can or two of carb cleaner through it while running (at part throttle say 40% or so) should clean up the inter coolers great. Would it be better to remove the charger and then remove the inter coolers and clean them out of the car sure, but i bet that running a can or two through would get most of it.
Just joined this forum............and this is why I am glad I joined. Finding out certain things you gotta fix right away. I just got my stang last month.

The stock valve covers already have baffles, or some similar device, which is why there's no PCV valve on stock engines.I have often considered pulling the valve cover and putting a baffle in it.
