I wonder how close to the edge those new GT500s are already. From the newest MM&FF article, it sounded like they were at 15# of boost already. How much more can those TVS2300s support? 20? Gotta believe the IATs get REALLY high at that point...

They're running the TVS @ 15lbs of boost, correct...but the 'new' TVS flows more and is more efficient. It's also running Ford GT cams, larger heat exchanger, larger intercooler, has more efficient cooling in the block and heads, and have piston oil squirters. Combining all that with the increase in displacement and they ONLY got 100hp increase is what surprises me. Before the article I assumed they were still running 9lbs of boost.

They already run a CAI, and I doubt there will be as many pulley swaps... They've basically done to the 500 what they've done with the 5.0, and have it pretty close to maxed out from factory. They claim to have upgraded the rods, but they're still sinter forged, so can't be that much better...and would it really be worth swapping the blower? For some yes, for most no.

Don't get me wrong, I really love what they've done with the '13 GT500...even considered swapping for one. But after looking into it and reading what it comprised of, and considering the deal I got on mine....if would be an awful waste of money for pretty much the different geared tranny, and the cool guy doo-dads in the dash...


Personally, I want to eventually get the 5.8L block with true forged internals, and the heads with GT cams. I'll upgrade as many cool guy toys in the interior as I can....but in the end I'll be as fast or fast, with much less invested,
