I got a set of 18" 5 spoke saleens a couple years ago that are gunmetal grey.
I hate the color so im stripping the paint off and painting them black.
i cant decide between a gloss or matte black finish or if i should just get them powdercoated. Im liking the matte idea but i want to know what everyone else thinks....cars silver.

Also, they are 18x9.5. What size tires would yall run all around? I have a new set of 245's but im just gonna burn em off lol.

I can pull a favor with our powdercoaters....we give them alot of business. But its just deciding between the matte or gloss finish thats destroying me mentally.
OH!! the center caps are glossy finished if that would have any bearing.

Oh i have another question while im at it. Do any of you know a good automotive grade paint stripper? Ive tried stripeeze and zip strip or something like that, it was the strongest stuff the store had. One wheel is kinda half way there, but theres no way in hell im gonna do 3 more this way.

Im bored today and dont feel like working on my wheels so im just gonna post pics of my progress. Im using mar-hyde aircraft remover on them to get the old finish off. Its alot more work than i thought it would be going into it but itll be worth it in the end i think. I may end up just selling them after they are powdercoated since it still isnt the look im going for.

I've always liked those wheels... powdercoat them gloss black then sell them to me, i could use a set for some track only wheels :)

Gloss black p/c is the plan, im getting it done in the next week or 2..just depends on how long i take to finish prepping the rest of the wheels with having to repaint the living room on top of buying new furniture:banghead:
but yeah id sell em cheap and even include the tires i have for them. ill keep you posted though.

I had the thought, but i cant get a deal on polishing like I can on p/c'ing, and im sure as heck not doing it myself. I guess if someone wanted them polished I could just sell them bare and leave it up to them. hmm...
Ill finish stripping the paint and post them for sale, if noone wants them ill send them for powdercoating and try again. OR Kaldar if you want them bare just shoot me a pm and well see what we can work out. LOL i should have just posted them for sale before i started the work....but oh well i was excited about it at the time.
