Is the 2.97 first too tall for your purpose?

Yes. I don't want to put any thing as short as a 4.88 in the car. I'm getting good 60' times with my current setup. 4.10's with a 3.67 first and small slicks is netting sub 1.5's. And I still turn decent rpm at highway speeds. I was hoping to bring my rpm down a bit in high gear, actually. That was the main reason I had thought about the xl. For the .5 6th.
