As the title states I am preparing my parts list to begin ordering parts for my new longblock.
The shortblock is a JDM 302E stroker which will be going into my Saleen equipped 2005 3V.
I will be using JDM's Sterling Cams with limiters and the supplied new valve springs. JDM will be tuning the car once again .
By looking at other peoples parts lists and my Ford Manual I have found a few discrepancies which I have not found the answers to so far.
I am not sure whether I will be reusing any external bolt on parts such as valve covers, oil pan, front cover, engine oil cooler or ordering new parts for the time being.
The reason I may reuse some of the small parts is partly due to the Canadian Dollar now being worth close to $0.80 USD.
It will cost me $1.25 to equal $1.00USD.
I will also be paying both provincial and federal taxes on top of that which will bring the cost of a $1.00USD part closer to $1.43.
Fortunately I already have my shortblock, ARP studs, and timing components. Unfortunately I still need heads, cams and small parts.
This build will not be a quick one. I will probably be active in some local and regional IPSC and 3gun competitions this year so it will be a battle of time and money between the 2 hobbies.
The car is still fully functional and I have a complete spare longblock from valve covers to oil pan so there will be no rushing this project even if my engine decides to let go this year. As a matter of fact if it lets go it gives me more of an excuse to part one of the engines out.
Feel free to make comments or suggestions and thanks for looking.
The first part is the oil pan gasket.
