I've got a Chow Chow dog, Bengal cat, 2 toads, 3 Chinchillas, a Russian Tortoise, and a 5.5' Black Throat Monitor lizard...And a 7 year old little girl (Savana).

Now thats cool. I wanted a blue tongue skink at 1 point. But now that is cool. I want to see pix of the chinchillas I have chinchillas also.

Take it for walks. Feed it large rodents, eggs and birds (chicks). But mostly, he's just interesting to watch. He's a real gentle giant (generally).

thats cool as shit...i just couldnt see myself trusting a reptile that big. Kinda like owning a tiger. Sure it would be bad ass...right up until the time he realizes that he belongs in the wild and not on a leash.

In general that's a good outlook to have on wild type animals in captivity. Black Throat Monitors though really are mostly harmless. They don't bite (at least mine never has, or even thought about it). They only eat things they can swallow whole. So cats and small dogs and children are all off the menu. About the worst thing they can do is whip you with their tail, which really hurts, but otherwise harmless. They can be aggressive, but it's all about how they're brought up. If I step into his enclosure he'll hiss and whip his tail, but after a minute he'll calm down. Afterall, that is HIS home. When he's out of his enclosure he's just fine, and is more focused on exploring the house than worrying about me.

Thats bad ass man. The most un-normal pets I have ever had were a baby deer and sugargliders.

Had the deer for a year and a half. It got way too big for the house so we had to put him in the yard. He finally decided to jump the fence and we let him stay in the wild. Still hung around the house for a while before one of the hunters on the ranch shot him.

Sugar gliders are the shit. Mine would always sleep in my shirt pocket and loved to glide around the house. He was so tame that I would take him to school with me when I was still in college. For the most part, he would sleep, or just crawl on my head and look around at everybody.

was the glamor dog in the 80's. Then people figured out they aren't lap dogs, they're hunters. Seems like they're making a comeback. Clooney just won best of show in the National in Pa last month.

Here is Ox at 1.5yrs old. I don't have any recent but he is now 36" at the shoulder and 198lbs.

Here was my fish tank until my 2 year old decided to help feed them when I was not there.

My wife and I have a 5 year old chihuahua, didn't really care for her at first but she grew on me(the dog). I want to get a bulldog but I'm going to have to wait since she doesn't get along with other dogs. Here she is laying on the couch in the camper
