piston to valve clearance

Is there enough clearance to roll the crank with out the timing chains connected to cams? Now that i tore the front of the engine down to change the oil pump, i found the enigine is done. I need to pull torque convertor bolts to seperate trans and pull motor.

I doubt it. Look at the cam lobes though, see how many have valves open. If you were going by the workshop manual and tore it down at the neutral position with the data matrix to the top on all four cams you might be ok.

Of course the cams have to come out anyway so might as well remove them first.

If you haven't done it before, it is critical to be very deliberate when removing these camshafts. I'll back each bolt out a half turn at a time alternating caps. The cam thrust surfaces fit very tightly over the head and it doesn't take much bind to break a cap.

If cams are stock, Coyotes are supposedly non-interference engines.
Turning it over by hand you'll find out soon enough without risking damage.

Should also be able to pull the trans and leave the converter on the flexplate. Little messy though.
