So if you dip it you can paint over it a color you want like say Kona blue you can still peel it off?

Yup. Plastidip is simplely a rubber base. But don't do it like long term like 2+ years. I would do it for like 8-12 months

The... stencil stuff is plastidipped under. It peels right off.

plasti dip worked like a champ on stripes! looks and feels like vinyl slightly flexible rubber tho.

When i look at it in sunlight some spots have a slight sheen and others look misty like the coat is too thin. Can i add another good coat in a few days safely?

Damn, why didn't I think of that. I paid $35 for my tiny hood angle strips. I could have just bought a can of this stuff.

it turned out amazing! looks and feels like vinyl stripes! probably will last 6-8 months or more, and then just tape to the stripes peel them off and respray!

i just have to put one more good coat on it!

So how do you mask it so when you remove the tape it doesn't mess up the lines?

use soft painters tape, after you do your last coat, #4 do sections. after you paint the trunk pull it off, slowly and pull hard but slow.

If you do that with each section on the car seperately on the last coat, the wet coat keeps it so that it wont peel or mess up.

if you let it dry and pull it, then it will be a nightmare.

My son did 5 coats front and back
1 can did 4 coats so a little more then one can on 20,s

my son is doing the hard work. He used to fix boats and has sprayed gel coat
He says it’s thick and spays about the same consistency as gel
He was impressed

This works well. I just wish it held onto the chrome wheels a bit better. I have a massive bubble on one wheel. I did this cause I wanted to peel it if black didn't fit. Now to just figure out how to strip the chrome to get them powdercoated.

I'm going to do this to my truck wheels in the winter to keep them from corroding from the road salt. Cheaper than buying a winter set of wheels.

I was thinking the same thing. I am also thinking of spraying the front of our Jeep with clear to help prevent rock chips

You dont need to strip the chrome as long as it is in good shape and not peeling. It will just need to be gone over with media blasting to rough the surface up to give the powder something to hold onto. Ive coated over chrome with no problems.
