Please help identify noise

Metal on metal noise from the back end, I think driver's side. This has been going on for a couple months and getting progressively worse. I took it to the dealer (since it's under warranty) who basically told me that it had to be rotors or pads, which I replaced already. I told them I suspected the pinion bearings and had them check the axle fluid. They said it was fine. Not sure I trust that but there you go.

So I brought it home, changed out the rotors, again and replaced the pads, again. No change at all. Here's a link to a video file. Go Pro inside the trunk near the driver's side shock bolt.

This is a 2014GT Track Pack. Car has 33K miles, I daily drive it. Tracked 8 times. No engine or powertrain mods.

Opinions welcome. Anybody have this experience before?

I had a similar noise for about 6 months. I then got pissed off and took out the trunk carpet, spare tire, jack, and bottle. The noise stopped. Looks to be the OEM Lug Wrench since it wasn't tied down and was sitting their loose.

Put it up on jackstands, remove rear tires and get a better look. Have a buddy put it in gear and put things in motion.

I would check for a hung up caliper, bent backing plate(rubbing rotor), tire rubbing fenderwell lining(been there), etc

Been tracked? I would check the gear oil level myself, bent axle tube, axle bearings.

Just throwing some ideas out there.

I would take a screwdriver reach thru the wheel and push the dust shield away from the rotor to start with

Thanks. I removed the dust shields a while back. And I did have it up on jack stands to try to isolate the noise, but I'm pretty sure its only when the rear suspension is loaded. The dealer replaced the pinion bearings and race, axles seals, replaced the fluid and inspected the axles and tubes. Noise still there. I found some info on another forum that makes me think its the diff housing not being bored correctly, or possibly bent axle tubes as suggested above. Dealer is talking to ford about replacing all of it.

And yes its been tracked. 8 times. Adding an axle catch can after the dealer is done screwing around and its fixed.

Very frustrating but I'm hopeful it will be resolved in the next couple of weeks.

I had the entire rear end gutted and rebuilt. Clutch and associated parts. Axles and driveshaft replaced. Still a noise would pop up during cold weather. Ended up being a dry pinion seal. This noise started a week after the rebuild and went away during the summer only to come back in Nov.

Fixed, was the rear end bearings.

They finally replaced the entire back end. Diff, axles, housings, pinion bearings and race, etc.... Problem seems to be solved.

It is possible but not very common at all!
