Possible pinging/light detonation?

I know I'm reaching out a bit on this one but have to ask. Is it possible that simply data logging a car can somehow cause it to start pinging under a light load or light acceleration at low rpm's? Or is it simply coincidental? And to answer anyone's question. It had the same gas in it before I got to the shop and after I left. Just weird and I"m freaking out because I just bought this car. Thanks for any info.
