Oops. Forgot to mention that one. These cars are so much quicker when they're cold. Not just the Shelby either although it benefits greatly due to the difference in the tunes.
Nice work, Mark. Damn....wish I had remembered to tell you that. Sorry, man.
No worries, I was pleased with my performance overall and pretty happy with my lights. You had mentioned about running the car warm on qualifying then cold on eliminations, but since I was in two classes almost on top of each other, it was impossible. What I did on Saturday was stop by home depot on the way and paid the $5 for 180 lbs of ready mix concrete...lol
Had that in the trunk on saturday and was turning consistent 14.4x's with a best of 14.40 so my dial was 14.30. Just took out the concrete and presto - was running right on the dial but I always had the car warm. The needle was pinned left on the car and was seriously ice cold after an hour and a half delay so from our conversations, I figured a .10 faster so I lifted about 50' out. The guy I was running was last year's champion and really good so he was coming up on me and I just lifted to fender him through the traps. Looking back, I realize now that the 1/2 car I had on him was too much (.149 to .150 RT's) and I should have tapped the brakes instead of just lifting but I wasn't thinking at the time. Great learning experience though.
I'll tell you what, I know everyone loves to say they prefer 'chasing' a car down and it's more fun, but strategically, it's a whole lot better to be out front if your trying to win...

I learned that the guy in front is the one who dictates the race, not the guy chasing. (If the guy in front knows what he's doing of course...lol)
