Its been awhile since I have posted anything up, but Im looking at a used 08 GT500 and I am aware that some of these cars had clutch issues. A TSB was issued to remedy the problem if any symptoms showed up, but my problem is finding out if the car received the service, I know an oasis report will show but I am unsure if I can find a dealer to get me one where its a private seller.

Secondly, a vibration was reported on the carfax at 1600 miles, I drove the car power felt great, no unusual sounds, thumps, bumps or rattles, etc. How much weight should I put on this, I realize it could be soft tires sitting and flat spots, driver unfamiliar with a manual car, stuff like that or could it be cause for concern? Car is stock aside from the ford power pack w/tuner. Any help S197 forum could provide would be appreciated.

Car is under 15k miles if helps at all.

Ask for an OASIS report from a dealer. Will give up the entire history of service.

Oops. See u mentioned that. I would think a local dealer would provide it if you ask nicely.

I was fairly certain from the searching I have done that it was subject to any of the 07-09 cars, as the solution was to install a 2010 clutch and flywheel on the 4th iteration of the TSB's.

But the issue was the most common on the 07 models and some of the early 08's that were built in late 07, I am just not sure what changed to reduce the frequency of problems.

GallopingFord, I sent you a PM.

Just replied your PM with the information.

I would just overhaul the transmission anyways with the 10+ flywheel/clutch

I really appreciate the help, I have one more question for you waiting in a PM if you don't mind. But from what I am seeing with the OASIS, carfax, and driving it seems to be in good shape.

EDIT: Most likely if I were to replace any of it I would just go aftermarket and McLeod

Looks, like the deal is going to fall through on this one ...

Anyone familiar with this car? I'm thinking about heading over into NC this weekend to check out a few GT500's I've located on the interweb that are pretty close to each other and this one on the list but its heavily mod'd ...

Anyway, car seems to have about everything low miles, bolt-ons, blower swap, etc ... price is a little high but they have had it for awhile maybe able to talk it down a good bit

Obvious questions for them are tuner, how much boost, timing, fuel, etc ...
