I've run in high 30s, and it can be dicey. A lot of it depends on how much heat gets in the track. If it's sunny, it helps. But a bunch of clouds is not your friend. Also, track prep is important... even more than usual.

nice to see they are running when it is cold. I have been waiting for weeks to run. Here in Dallas/Ft Worth the tracks have been closing because of cold weather. I am keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow that they will run the test and tune at the 1/8 mile Denton. The 1/4 track looks closed until late Feb.

yeah I was hoping to go Sat, but the track is a long drive and not sure I want to go and have shitty conditions, I was hoping to get a 11 sec slip but if traction is crap it aint happening

Last week the track was a bit slick and they didn't go out of their way to keep the prep good for the street lanes. I'm assuming your talking Atco. They had a fair amount of slick cars running... and running... and oh yeah, send out the street cars.... Out of 4 runs I didn't get a decent launch. The conditions were much better last weekend as well. If you can slide in with the slick cars you may have a shot at a decent launch, saw a few guys get away with that. Next weekend may be better, weather wise.

I don't bother wasting my time unless is over 50*. Anything lower and the track is just too cold to hold any heat and traction becomes a big challenge when the track temp drops too low, even with the sun out. Plus is no fun just sitting around in the cold between runs.

I've run in the 40s with good success, but never tried in the 30s and just stayed home

Yeah the last time I went the track temp. was 30 degrees. I usually 60' in the 1.7+ range. The best I could do was a 2.09 and went 12.48 @113. I can only imagine if I got my 1.7 back that it will go 11's.

I didn't see any Atco reports but I heard Cecil had decent hook.

Next weekend looks pretty good so far. Now the decision:

Atco or Cecil?
