I wouldn't have to if some jackhole hadn't put his car up for sale for 3 minutes and 27 seconds and taunted me in to buying another stang!

Just do this and you'll never notice it!!

I have a ozone machine and haven't used it in the mustang (no need for it) but I do use it in my work vehicle every couple months.I shampoo the carpets, clean the interior and plug the ozone McGillicutty in over night. Smells like a pool in the morning but if you add some febreeze or your favorite air freshener it's all good.......I like French whore vanilla myself.

the meguiars odor eliminator from the parts store seems to work good on cigarette smoke. I used it at work in the equiptment cabs to get cig smell out of trade in's. it stinks really bad for a couples days, then its just wears away(cig smell) but don't take my word for it. some people hate that stuff. I got along great with it.

I bought mine with the same issues.....time is probably the most important factor. After about 6 months the smell was just about gone.

One thing I did do other then clean the crap out of the interior was replace the carpet and floor mats.

Also, consider pulling off all the panels you can and clean them. You wont believe how much ashes can settle in places.

Mine had the same issue. Change the cabin filter. Then put a bowl of white vinegar on the floor. Sit the car in the sun with the windows up for a day. I didn't believe it but it was the only thing that worked for mine.

I read about the vinegar online but thought it had to be an old wives tale... may have to try it. I am bombing the interior with two "Vanilla & Moonlight" Fabreeze car freshners at the moment to see if I can at least mask it until it gets detailed.

Anyone know the location of the cabin filter on the 12's? I thought the 05-09's were under the cowl, are the newer ones the same?

Try a couple of small containers with Baking Soda in them
Punch holes in the lids (Small) and put them in the back

Oh You can also put the baking soda on the carpet for a weekend and then vacuum it IIRC

Hey, who knew that Febreeze "Vanilla & Moonlight" car freshner smells like a freshly opened condom package when mixed with cigarette smoke... Oh well, having the interior smell like rubbers instead of an ashtray is definitely a step forward... just not my personal choice of scents. :kill:

I couldn't find an ozone generator nearby so stuck with the air freshener for now. I had previously purchased a full detail for my DD but will be using it on the Mustang. once it is fully cleaned inside I will re-assess and get a bomb if necessary.
