I tried, and failed to remove the OTA pipes on my 08 Bullitt with the car on ramps and jack stands. Is it possible to do it without a lift, and if so, what are some tips/tricks on making it happen. I have some Borla OTA pipes that came with my Touring mufflers, and I want to take another shot at installing them.

Disconnect shocks which will let the rear droop an additional 5-6". It's still tight but it will work. I've put 3" ota pipes in without a lift this way.

I just pulled all my exhaust to wrap it, all done on jack stands. If the stands are under the axle tubes it will not work. I lifted the back of the car by the body once it was up so the axle was hanging and there was more than enough room to pull the ota pipe. Just make sure the car is up high as you can get it, didn't have to disconnect anything.

The higher you can get the car, the better. Once you get it raised up, throw a 4x6 block on the jack and raise it up another 6 inches. Get the car up on four jack stands fully extended under the frame and you can get them out.

It's tricky but I've done it on jack stands in the past, gotta do some fancy twisting.

I just did it. I had a 24" jack and got it out. Don't have the jack on the axle so the suspension is fully unloaded and use wood blocks if needed to raise it about 24". Tried and tested, they will come out if you can get it to that height.

Thanks for all the tips/tricks, I plan on trying this install again this spring when I swap out the off-road for the catted x-pipe, for my annual emissions test.

I did mine with 3 inch pipes on my car. It was hard. I had the car up as high as I possibly could and still felt like I was doing the twister under my car.

I disconnected the pan hard bar and shocks from the axle. Then took out the springs and let the axle hang.
