:damnit:Should have looked their first. Thanks.

1. Press and release the SETUP control to display “OIL LIFE =
XXX% HOLD RESET = NEW”.
2. Press and hold the RESET control for two seconds and release.
Oil life is set to 100% and “OIL LIFE SET TO 100%” is displayed.

Did that work?

I have tried to reset mine, as explained above, and it will not reset. When I release the reset button, it just removes the message from the screen.
:headscratch:

I just had this problem the other night. I think when you reset it you have to go to oil life % and push rest and then it should read 100%.

Had issues resetting mine on my 08 Escape XLT. I'm sure it was user error, but I swear I would try and reset it right after changing the oil and it just wouldn't let me. I'd try it the next morning and it would reset right away. Odd...

1. Press and release the SETUP control Twice to display “OIL LIFE =
XXX% HOLD RESET = NEW”.
2. Press and hold the RESET control for two seconds and release.
Oil life is set to 100% and “OIL LIFE SET TO 100%” is displayed.

I figured it out. You have to press the setup botton twice to get the screen that says Oil life set to 100%. Then hit reset.

How far did it go till it said it was time?
2650 miles. :lol2: It probably triggered the oil change early since the car is 6 months old.

I usually change a new car at the first 2500 miles anyway. I'll try going to 5000 on the next change.

The new cars have a pan under the oil filter which requires removing before changing the filter (4 bolts).

No what you do is get in the car, put the ignition in run, get out of the car and run around it 3 times. Then get back in the car pull the key out of the ignition, pat your head 4 times exactly. Then open the glove box, pull out the owners manual and read the dam thing!

Hey Dickhead, the owner's manual was printed with the wrong instructions on reseting the oil life setting.

Really? And you still couldnt figure it out? I am a knuckle dragging infantryman, and EVEN I could figure out how to reset it without reading the manual or by starting an "Oh Lord Jesus, Help me" thread.
