My car runs in the 10's so now its time to be safe and legal. Im ordering the Wolfecraft Racing Roll Bar. Im using my stock seats. My question is regarding the 5-point harness and the way it attaches to the bar. Ive read that if the straps wrap around the bar there must be something to limit the travel?? Dont know if that is true or not. I did not read that in the NHRA pdf. If the straps bolt to the bar do you have to weld tabs or can you weld a stud or nut onto the bar and bolt the straps that way?? Will the wrap around style harness's be sufficient?? Would this harness pass tech or what other harness do you recommend?

I'd ask wolfe to weld some tabs on for the harness or limiters, hopefully they could do that for cheap. Would be nice if they came that way. I have the wrap around style harness and just had the shop that welded it in do the limiters with some small tube.

Make sure you get something to mount the crotch strap to as well, I think wolfe sells a bar that bolts across the front two seat bolts for that.

Are you putting a 4, 5 point or full cage in?

I use split bearing collars clamped around the crossbar. That way you can position, or re-position them however you want.

where did you purchase the collars?

I probably got them from grainger or a similar place. Lots of places you can get them. Just be sure what the diameter of your crossbar is and get the right size for it. You can get these in aluminum so you don't need to paint them or anything.

^^ Thanks. I called Wolfecraft and a harness limiter is standard on the bolt-in kits and they will do it on the weld-in kits if asked. The make it so you can wrap the harness around the bar.

I was thinking 5 point for myself, but am not seeing much out there. I'll never see 10.00 :)

Like Dave posted. 11.49 and below. You will hit a 10.99 easily. Ill never see a flat 10.00 myself. Im happy with high or mid 10's.

I raced all last year competitively in Super Pro at Atco as well as went to the Bracket Finals and I never had any tech problems with my 5-point harness being tied around the back bar. I suspect since I have the Jegs resin race seat with the center hole the belts go through, that limits the travel of the belts.

This is the one I am using and I just took the tabs off the shoulder belts that would normally bolt down on the bar.

Would these work with stock seat and no roll bar/cage? I'm trying to use them for a few autox and track days then remove at the end of the event for the drive home.

I'm coming out of an E46 M3 where I was spoiled with a quick fit harness which plugged into the seatbelt receptacles and was installed/uninstalled in minutes.
