Can scratchx 2.0 be applied with my porter cable, and if so which pad would I use, maybe the white pad? I've got some pretty decent swirls in the paint so figured I'd give the scratchx a try, I just don't want to do it all by hand. It says on the bottle it can be applied w/ a DA. I tried Pinnacle advanced swirl remover with an orange pad and it looked like I didn't really do anything. Any help would be appreciated, I am still trying to learn how best to do all of this(and my car is black) and have been reading a lot on here. I do know there are better products/processes. This is what I was planning on doing, lkl if I'm way off here:

-wash/clay
-scratchx 2.0 (white/orange pad?)
-Meguiars ultimate polish(gray pad)
lake country pads
-Meguiars ultimate liquid wax

Compounds are variable. A compound like Scratch-X which was designed to be done by hand or DA, would really only benefit from a white pad since it has a very low cut.

I have used SwirlX and ScratchX with a PC on many different occasions. It should work just fine and what you have following it should get you some nice looking results.

Let us know how it works out.

just finished the wash/clay- about to get out there/tape up and try this stuff out before it gets too hot. It's stll in the 80's, but getting up to 104 at some point today:argh: Thanks again for the replies!

Any tips on product amount for the scratchx per panel?

Try to make sure you're able to work in a shaded area. Most car care products do not like direct sunlight. Some brands out there state that it's safe in direct sunlight (ie Poorboy's), but overall it's best to work under shade.

If the pad is fresh, you want to prime it first. Typically, you can just put an "X" on the face of the pad with the polish. Do your first pass and at that point the pad should be primed. From there on out, you can simply apply 5-6 pea sized dots on the face of the pad and continue throughout the car. Work at a 2 Square foot area at a time and as the polish is worked in, you'll be able to notice it needs to be reapplied. Rinse and repeat throughout the car and you should be set.

Shoot me a PM or give me a call if you need any more help.
