It was a serious question. The brace is designed to prevent deflection of the factory-pinned tubes. Welding the tubes to the center section does the same thing, right? Lots of GT500 guys run welded tubes and no brace, so I'm assuming it works.

On all of my current and previous Mustangs, yes. I have been welding my axle tubes for over 10 years now, thousands of sub 1.5 sixties, and no issues.

Apparently, welding is not an option for some people, I guess I can understand.

The factory axle tubes are pinned to the center section. In lieu of a brace, you can have your local shop weld the tubes to the center section. I did it to mine. Here's a picture I found on Google:
