Went to put on my front bumper today and noticed the drivers side was missing a bulb in the “side marker lens”…dunno if that’s the correct term? Not only that, it was missing the whole plug. Started peeling back tape and found a red/wht & blk taped off. Taped together actually, not twisted together just taped with the same piece of tape lol. The bulb in the pass side was blown so I run to Oriellys, get new bulbs & order new bulb housing and harness…$70! Get home and plug bulb into pass side harness and nothing. Turn lights on all different types of ways, all the bulbs come on as they should but not that one. It never lights up. Checked with volt meter and nothing in the pass side or the stripped wires on the drivers side. I replaced the brown harness awhile back (3 wire) and must have looked over the missing plug on the drivers side. Can’t find any fuse locations for “side marker lights”…..dunno, is the 2 wire bulb not used and the 3 wire bulb does it all? I know Ford didn’t send out the car with electric taped cut wires so someone’s been in here cutting out lights…?

Lamp is (oriented as in the pic) blue/orange-stripe - black/red-stripe - black
Signal is: brown - black

They run off the same fuse so if one set is working and the other isn't, it shouldn't be a fuse thing.
Given how you found it, you may need to trace up the wire harness and see if there's additional damage elsewhere.

Just for bulb reference:

Cool. These cars are so sensitive with the light circuits. One reason I continue to run normal bulbs up front. Never could get an LED kit for the side-markers or headlights that would sit well with the car. Either they leaked (electrically) or, more often, the system would just outright refuse to believe there was a good bulb there. Tried all kinds of resistors and such. I've actually had the mind to wire up my own light circuits and just run the car switches to relays or even an arduino. Rear circuits have never given me complaints. I run LED side and rear lights in the back.

Glad you found it. Like stated wiring harness issues can be challenging for sure. Reading an Electrical diagram seems simple but can be very disheartening at times.
