I tried searching for this topic but could not find any related, if there is kindly point me to it.

I am in the process of changing the radiator coolant again, because I used one which I was not sure if it was good or not, so I decided to change it again. In the process I was thinking of replacing the radiator Hose tubes, since I do not know if they were ever changed and since this car is not more than 15 years old ( model 2006 could also be 20 years old) I think they might have never been changed. I own this car for the last 7 years, the previous owner whom I bought it from 3 years, so already 10 years, and not sure when it was still in the USA how long the original owner had it for.

Now apart from getting your opinions on if I should change them or not, I mostly would like to know what you would go for, standard RUBBER hoses like the original or Silicone hoses? I read that the silicone last longer and can take the heat much easily than rubber.

Kindly give professional replies, based on experience in the mechanical field, getting such parts for an American car when living in Europe is a nightmare and very expensive, so I would like to make the correct choice .

Thank you

Tstat housing. It will crack.
Hoses last a lot longer than ppl think they do. Failure will occour where the hot coolant is exiting the block, aka upper rad hose.
** My 2008 van has OEM stuff still on it** ... guess I better atleast squeeze the upper hose to see if its getting soft.
