The connecting rods in the oem 05-10 4.6L eng are pretzel sticks at best. They will eventually succumb to metal fatigue. You are better off to replace with forged rods....and forged crank..and forged pistons, and a HD oil pump..and do it right. Once you window the block, it's game over. It's a case of.... 'pay me now...or pay me a LOT more..later'.At about 500-550 ft. lbs. You WILL find the limit of the stock rods in a 3v 4.6.

I’ve been thinking about this for awhile. And probably look into it this winter. Doing it for dependability and not more HP. Besides the parts you mentioned, is there anything else to replace when things are apart? Valve springs for example. 59K miles on car.The connecting rods in the oem 05-10 4.6L eng are pretzel sticks at best. They will eventually succumb to metal fatigue. While I beleive this is true as well, especially at higher power levels, I've been beating mine like it owes me money every time I drive it for about 20k miles and its not skipped a beat. This is on a higher mileage car too; it had 139k when I installed the M122 blower. The connecting rods in the oem 05-10 4.6L eng are pretzel sticks at best. I haven't raced it. I was just curious as to why the 5.4 with a supercharger didn't make as much as the 4.6 with a supercharger. All I can say is it must have been the LTHeaders (kooks and brenspeed detriot rockers) and the cams giving it extra.Who won the race? @Daniel Roberson
