At about 500-550 ft. lbs. You WILL find the limit of the stock rods in a 3v 4.6.

The connecting rods in the oem 05-10 4.6L eng are pretzel sticks at best. They will eventually succumb to metal fatigue. You are better off to replace with forged rods....and forged crank..and forged pistons, and a HD oil pump..and do it right. Once you window the block, it's game over. It's a case of.... 'pay me now...or pay me a LOT more..later'.

I’ve been thinking about this for awhile. And probably look into it this winter. Doing it for dependability and not more HP. Besides the parts you mentioned, is there anything else to replace when things are apart? Valve springs for example. 59K miles on car.

While I beleive this is true as well, especially at higher power levels, I've been beating mine like it owes me money every time I drive it for about 20k miles and its not skipped a beat. This is on a higher mileage car too; it had 139k when I installed the M122 blower.

I originally had it dyno tuned, and it made 460/440 on a dynojet. I later had Lito tune it for both 93 and e85. I have no idea what its making now.

The m122 isnt going to make enough power to hurt the 3v unless the tune is wrong. I have a fbo 05 with the phase 2 tvs2300 kit making around 12psi. It bent a rod and broke a piston skirt about 2 months after install. The car did have 155,000 rough miles before I installed the supercharger though. It didnt hurt the cylinder bore at all, I put a used rod and piston in it and let her eat.haha It is lund tuned on 93 with meth injection now with some comp blower cams. Still hurting coyote cars feelings on the stock bottom end.

I haven't raced it. I was just curious as to why the 5.4 with a supercharger didn't make as much as the 4.6 with a supercharger. All I can say is it must have been the LTHeaders (kooks and brenspeed detriot rockers) and the cams giving it extra.
