Anyone have a solution to get rid of static electricity? My car stays in the garage under a cover all the time. As soon as I pull the cover off it seems like every piece of dust sticks to it like glue. I actually switched car covers thinking the Covercraft Noah was the culprit. Didn't make any difference. It's black so that makes it even worse. It really takes the fun out of getting it out. I maybe put 200 miles on it this summer. I use Meguiars ultimate quick detailer and a California duster on it after every cruise. I actually have not washed it since 2007

You dont have enough carbon in your tires, cheap tires?

Put a static strap from the bottom of the car to the ground, this will allow the flow of electricity to ground to earth.

Very common on cars with not enough carbon in the tires, i have equipment with non skid tires(no carbon) and if the static strap is gone you will get zapped like pulling the plug wire off a briggs and stratton.

Just run a piece of rubber from the car to the ground. Done

I have had both M&H drag radials and the OE BfG's. We have static straps on our fork truck at work. I may try that..
