has anyone done a 2010-12 to 2013-14 tail light swap? it looks like you have to swap the bumper cover, what about wiring?

direct plug in from what I've read, and you don't need to replace the bumper cover, but there will be a gap with the stock bumper cover

We actually sell a lot of the 13-14 tail lights. As mentioned, it's a direct swap with a small gap in the rear bumper. nothing that you really notice at a glance.

If you want to go cheap and just do the "look" , American Muscle has some graphics that will cover the center of the 2011/12 lights to make them look like 2013+ lights. Not for everybody, but sure saves the cost/time.

I did it on my car. I work at a dealership and bought my car here. W had a used 2013 on the lot as well. I spoke to my GM about swapping and was willing to pay to swap them. Before I could mention giving boot he said let me go check them out. He came back and said he thought mine would look better on the '13. So I swapped straight up.

A little. It sold after swapping the lights a few days later though so I guess it wasn't to bad. Glad I got the newer lights though. I prefer them over the stockers myself.

Not sure how the 10-12 lights fit the bumper of the 13? And why the hell would a dealership let you switch and f up a 13 with older lights? Hacks!

I love the 13 tails over the others. Do you have any closer pics showing the gap?

The GM didn't know any better really. When I bought my car there I was working there so when I asked he said he though the other would look better with my stock lights.

Yeah I swapped in the lights from my '12 into the '13. Worked fine for me at least.

Thanks man I appreciate it. The car actually sold within a week after doing that. After sitting on the lot for over 100 days.

Dealership in East KY where I'm from.

yeah, I really doubt it was because you slapped the wrong year tail lights on it lol

Never said it sold because of that. Just stating that it apparently didn't hurt the sale of the vehicle.

They let me swap lights. Anyone who likes the look of the new lights would have done it also I'm sure. It's not that big of a deal to me. I got the lights and am happy with my car.
