So I ran into a problem hope I can get some help would be appreciated. My timing chain on my 2009 mustang gt is not showing gray links to line up I marked with ink turn engine till mark showed up and still no gray link like mechanics book indicates. So what would be my best option with out removing timing cover? The reason is upgrading my oem cams to Detroit Rockers.

If you're just replacing cams, you can just mark a link and that link's spot on the phaser sprocket with a sharpie or paint. Then use the timing chain wedge to keep tension on the lower part of the chain, remove the phaser and swap cams. when you put the new cam in, put the phaser back on and make sure the link you marked lines up with the spot you marked on the phaser. If you search you can find some cam swap threads that show and explain this process.
