Those with stripes, how do you clean em?

I have 2 white vinyl stripes on my GT, and up close, you can really tell they are pretty messed up. Lots of oxidation and embedded crap on them, even after a good wash. Anyone have a good methods to getting them nice and new looking? Mine are white, which does not help....

If I can't get them clean, I'm just gonna take them off and either get new ones down the road, or leave it naked.
