I haven't found any info on this. I want to have the stock throttle body powder coated, but with the plastic gears I don't think it is smart.
how the Hell do you remove them if at all. The torx that bold the arm through the butterfly is squished so that is not coming out.
If not, looks like I will bead blast it and polish it.

Download the instructions for the BBK throttle body. Im pretty sure they tell you how to remove and install the gears/electronics. The butterflies don't have to be removed. It's not like they will be powder coating internally. Just make sure to tell them to mask both ends off so overspray doesn't end up where it shouldn't be.

I took a metal saw and sawed a slice along the head of the torx and used a large flat head screwdriver to unscrew it.

The head is fine. it is the threads that protrude, they do that so it can't vibrate out. Factory squished, not a screw up.
Will check out the bbk instructions.

Edit.....the bbk throttle body already has gears I installed so that was no go.

Thanks.

Thanks. Did you cut the squished ends of the butterflies off?
