Just getting started. Hard to get the photos to show the swirls but my paint is pretty bad. These are the before pics. I will post after when the car is finished. Only products I am using is the ones in the original post. And georgia is horrible about water spots btw. The grill and spoiler are coming off for this and whole car getting taped off.

Wow some of those swirl marks look pretty bad. I would wash it and then take some pics of the swirl marks to get a good before and after to see if you went aggressive enough to remove them. Looks like you have your work cut out for you this weekend. Good luck and enjoy it, you will love the results:beerchug2:

Are you looking for techniques? Polishing and compounding is a slow and labor intensive process, I'm not sure I'd want to constantly mess with a camera to show the details as I moved around the car.

Are you going to be shooting some video of this?

I plan to make videos with these products on a different car. Using mine to practice on and learn the products.

Never buying a black car again lol Not in Georgia especially. Well hopefully after this process I should only have to maintain it.

IMO, black cars in GA aren't that bad, as long as you have a light color interior....black/black....yeah, that sucks.

Looking forward to seeing the restoration of that paint...I just ordered some Chemical Guys Black Light too...so I'll be checking it out as well.

Completed the process with V36 w/orange cut pad and then V38 w/white polish pad. I will have to finish tomorrow with 2 coats of black light then 2 coats of Pete's '53 then V7. Those polishes come off very easily. V36 makes a lot of dust but V38 does not at all. Great system for first timers.

Trim mostly taped off. Those are paint chips from when I lived in colorado. I filled those in as well with touch up paint.

Car is done. Took 2 days. I will post pics when the thunderstorm outside goes away and the sun comes back. Huge improvement. Looks like glass now.

The weather around here is pissing me off lately...went so long without any rain, now it's just spot raining enough to jack up a clean looking car.

By the way...even the pictures above are a huge improvement.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Looks WAY better man, nice work! Blacklight is some awesome stuff and one of my favorites to use. If you need more durability the BL might want to try DG501 for the off seasons when you cannot wash and reseal as often. Anxious to see more pics.

So I could not get photos in Georgia cause it was raining when I finished the car. After the rain storm, at night, I drove 800 miles to St. Louis from Georgia, hit 2 small rain storms and lots of bugs. I did a quick spray off when I got to my destination. I have to say everything that got thrown at the car during my drive the paint is still in excellent condition. So here are some pics after I sprayed it off. I basically tested the crap out of these products. So for now I will stick to Chemical Guys.

Car is dusty from sitting over night outside. Also you can see the small dent above the passenger side scope. Not sure how it happened but has been there for a while.
