Well sort of, the coolant overflow tank blew clean in half whilst out on a hot lap... literally, air temp was 113 °F... fuck knows what the track temp was!

Hmmm, makes you wonder if this will become problematic for Audi owners who regularly push their cars.

When I was in Iraq, if the free air temp was 113°, the flight line, or tarmac, was around 140-145°. Inside our helicopters would be in the 165-170° range and that's with leaving the doors and windows open. If you closed it up, the inside temps would be well over 200°. You HAD to put your Nomex flight gloves on before touching anything. Otherwise, you'd get immediate 1st and 2nd degree burns.

I love the design of the Audi and it's a beautiful car IMO. But they want WAY too much money for that thing.

this car got a lot of problems , one of my friend used to add engine oil everytime he hits the highway for a long time the car was consuming oil and the dealer said its okay thats how the car works, he ended up selling it!

Atleast it was something not catastrophic. On a side note, The R8 is a pretty sweet car. Thats gotta be nuts racing in that kinda heat.

Yeah, I own audi as well, and as far as R8 goes - I think it's a nice car for no more than $80k fully equipped. I would expect higher power level from $100k + car and reliability not it's strongest point as well.
