TPMS?

I have a set pf 315 mhz from a 2013 F150 which is same frequency as my 2008 GT. On line says they are not compatible with my 08, is because mine had banded sensors? Could it be the air pressure setting, if that is all, just want the light off. I have after market wheels without sensors now, tired of seeing the light on the dash and the readout also. Found a deal on factory set of wheels and tires but off a 2017 Track Pack with sensors but I know they will not work. Any help would be appreciated.

It doesn't have anything to do with the band style vs valve stem style.

While the frequency set is the same between the 2009-earlier and 2010-later TPMS devices, the code that piggy-backs the frequency is not and that is the reason why they are not cross compatible.
