Well last night was a learning experience indeed. First time with skinnies, bogarts, large sidewall rear tires (MT ET Streets 28"), new clutch, ect. I was playing with the tire pressure all night because i just couldn't hook at all.

I started at 16 and eventually made my way down to 14. I think i should have tried lower but i was afraid to go any lower. My short timeswere ranging from 1.7s to 2.0s this way. If i dropped the clutch i spun. If i slipped the clutch, i was bogging.

My first real true passes in over a year without anything breaking.

1.957 60' [email protected]
1.888 60' [email protected]
2.076 60' [email protected]

At this point i starting playing with the suspension. Changed the front tokicos to 5 turns out and the drivers rear to 5, the pass rear to 3 turns out. This seemed to get the car moving a bit better.

I started slipping the clutch at 4500ish and my 60 foots were instantly better. I started averaging 1.6's again.

Timeslip for my new best ET and MPH:
R/T: .571
60': 1.631
330: 4.769
1/8: [email protected]
1000: 9.393
1/4: [email protected]

I felt like the car spun through first gear on every run, like i had zero traction. the track was not very good at all IMO and most were complaining but on TNT nights they dont do much prep.

Now for the expected news. The last run of the night i launched pretty hard and i ran into a problem. During the run, everytime i would hit the gas pedal the front end of the car would move dangerously to the right. This could also mean the rear of the car was moving to the left. My first thought was a LCA bushing exploded. I aborted the run and ran a 20.375@44mph haha. I got to the pits and started to switch back to street mode. The funny thing is it is not doing this on my street tires. i had the car up to 120mph on the highway and it did not pull when hitting the gas like it did on my last run. I am at a loss for what did or is causing this. I will give it a thorough look over tonight when i get home. Could this be related to the skinny up front? The only other thing i can think of is possibly bent LCA relocation brackets.

Hey Ron, congrats on the new best time. 129mph is moving.
It seemed like you were getting better after every run.
As far as pulling to one side could be a few things.
What kind of tire are you running in the rear? It could be that you got out the grove, causing you to pull to the one side. Your air pressure could of fluctuated causing one side to have more air than the other. I run a MT radial 325-50-15 tire in the rear with 17psi in it all the time and they hook always. I personally think 14-15 is too low for a radial.

They are MT ET Streets. I lowered the pressure because i couldn't hook and at the advice of others on the board. they are 15" bogarts with 28" Tall ET Streets. Ive got a set of ET Drags here too but not mounted yet. I think i need tubes for em.

It seemed to be pulling on the return road too so i dont know

Congrats onthe new PB, Ron. With that trap speed, 10s aren't far off!

While tubes are recommended, they are not required. I've never run tubes in my ET Drag slicks, mainly because I didn't want to drill the rims for screws. I just run them tubeless (with metal valvestems, of course).

Also, I used to run the 28x10.50 slicks at anywhere from 10.5 to 12psi. The car would get wobbly at 11psi or under, so I prefered 12psi. With my new 28x11.50s, I set them at 13psi (cold), and they have been hooking very well for me.

Yep - 129 mph is definitely 10's when you get that thing dialed in!
