My son just purchased a 2009 V-6, and the trunkajar warning light keeps displaying on the dashboard. This car does not have a factory trunk light, but the previous owner had purchased the cover assembly with the light. I installed it the other day and realized that while there is a factory connector that allows the light to be plugged into it (and it does work), but I realized there is not a wire/connector for the light disconnect plunger like my 05 GT has on it. So, I am wondering where the switch and/or sensor is that activates the dash warning light for models that did not come equipped with a trunk light (which I found odd that Ford would actually make a model without one).

May I suggest calling a parts department at the dealer and see if thy have something for you!

I was actually more curious if they changed to a different type of switch from the '05 to the '09 since it didn't come equipped with a factory light and plunger switch. I'm trying to figure out how the car knows if the trunk is adjar or not. I had thought that the plunger switch that turns the light on/off was tied into that, but it may be somewhere else. I just ordered a Haynes repair manual, so maybe I can look at the wiring diagram and see if I can figure it out.
