It's clear coat... same as any other panel. I just wet sanded my 2012 Shelby, now thats skating on thin ice. Ford definitely did not leave a lot of breathing room, but just enough.

You use a thickness gauge?

Edit: The reason why I wouldn't be comfortable wet sanding CF is because most thickness gauges wont be able to measure how thick the clear is. I'm pretty sure there are devices out there that don't need a metal surface to measure, but they cost an arm and two legs.

I've wet sanded corvettes, lamborghinis, ferraris etc.

I use this gauge, never seemed to present issues

If I could justify the PT200 Advanced, I'd buy it. But I only usually do 1 car per week at many hours, its just a hobby for extra cash heh.

It pays for itself when you're wet sanding and using a rotary.
