I go pick up my new cell phone about forty five mins from my apt, when I finally get it, I call my wife to see what she's up to. She decides to do car shit when I'm not around. She went to get the oil changed, but since it was just her, they told her she needed an oil change, $34, a motor flush, $10, air filter, a STOCK one, which I have, $25, and fuel filter, $30. Total, $107.14

Car has just under 20K miles and never raced, and they told her the car HAD to be run on synthetic, which is funny because Ford sends the fuckers filled with motorcraft... Not saying, it shouldn't, but damn, these people are fucking assholes. I'm going tomorrow to rip someone a new asshole for charging like that.. :angry1:

Stock our cars run a 50% 50% blend. But I hear what your saying and this is the exact reason I'm teaching my gf how to take care of her own car and to let me do all the maintenance work. After thinking about it, $34 sounds like a regular oil change. I know here in VA it costs atleast $50 to $60 to get full synthetic done.

yeah, I think that was the price of blend if I'm not mistaken, but not full, and I'm trying to do the same. it's way cheaper to do it in the garage, well the little stuff like that at least.

I feel your pain, Had my wife take my NEW mustng to get the oil changed and told her what kind of oil I wanted. The car had 2000 miles on it and they sold her an air filter and cabin filter. About $90 total

I fucking came unglued and went to the shop the next day raised total hell, and got a $55 refund, but will never go to that shop again.

lol that reminds me the day i went to do service the the mazda3, and the mechanic was like. oh well u know the regular oil change is 40 but since those mazdas use those rotatory engines u have to use syntetic oil, blah blah,, i was like :wtf1::liar: and i said, first of all, there is a 4cyl 2.0 in my car, second of all if u used syntetic oil in a rotatory motor u are going to fuck it up because mazda specifies that u can not use syntetic. 3rd of all give me my keys because u are not touching my car.

got my keys and left him hangin :321: screw those places man.

all i can say is that it is not just shops like that. i went to car toys yesterday to look at there ipod radio connectors and the dumb MF there would not leave me alone and telling me how cheap they could get it installed and stuff like that. the guy kept telling me that he could have it all done for about 300 bucks when it is only 150 or less in parts. with that said im shopping on ebay from now on i cant stand talking to people

also i worked with a lady that managed a jiffy lube and they have a checklist that they go through and one of the things they have say you need is an air filter it does not matter what it looks like. so i would not completely blame the guys that sold it to yall there bosses made them most likley.

I paid ~$60 to get the oil changed and their "inspection" 3 years ago. This was at the dealer. Haven't let anyone change my oil or look at my car for maintenance since. Shit just costs too much.

I think it was, but a smaller, more local one. And yeah, it does suck, either if they want to do it, or they boss makes them, it's still wrong, and now I'm heading over to yell. loudly. Even if I don't get my money back, which would be great, I would enjoy fucking up someones day.

You oughta hold your wife at least a little accountable. She's the one that said yes to all of that stuff.

the guy at the Toyota dealer asked me if I wanted the cabin filter changed on my wifes 08 Highlander. He says it will be $17 (is what I heard). I said sounds fair, go to pay and he say's $70.25:omfg: I said hey man I thoght you said 17 and I hesitated for about 30 seconds. He says we will take care of it, and charged me the 17.

my mom went to the Nissan stealership to get an oil change on her '07 Maxima. guys told her she needed a power steering flush, radiator flush and a new battery. car had 12k miles on it (she never goes any where).

She told them to wait just a moment so she could call her son. She calls me and tells me what they want to do and what they said she needed. I told her to ask them for the Service Managers name and phone #. I gave him a call and told him what was going on, he told me that he thought that sounded fishy and would check into it. 2 hours later my mother called and told me that they didn't charge her anything and that it was all a mistake. so she got a all the flushes and a new battery out of the deal.

She's 73 and they thought that were going to "roll" her. I called the SM back and thanked him for taking care of her and let him know that she has strict orders to call me before ANYTHING is done to her car.........lmao

Dude, had my wife pull one of those a few years ago, NEVER AGAIN!!! She went to jiffy lube for an oil change and came out with new oil, filter, windshield wipers, and I don't remember what else, all over $130. I was fuming. Fortunately it was her Accord, I never let anyone touch my cars. She thought she would help me out cause I was soooo busy with work and all. I told her that kind of help I can do without. I do ALL my own work, and have stayed a happy camper that way. Wives, can't live with them......Can't kill them! :kidding:

that sucks! but last lines funny. haha.

Final result: I went today, I was talking to a worker in charge but he said the owner would be there shortly, well, he drives in as I'm about to take off.. Lucky me. I start talking with him and instead of asking what's the problem nicely, starts arguing with me. Without a hello, without jack shit. So I decided I'd have an "SD tantrum" and go apeshit on him, he was actually getting mad about it and i told him to keep his fucking filter. We got the money back for the filter but he said if he gave us the money back he wouldn't see us again, at all. I said that's fine, and took the cash. What a fucking joke, it's not even about the money, it's on principle. Oh, and funny little thing was there was a free car wash attached to the receipt, which he took, and i kindly asked for back. HAHA...
