Hello, I’m new to the forum but I’m having trouble with my 2011 mustang GT with 6 speed manual. Before this car I was only familiar with my 65’ mustang with mechanical clutch linkage so I’m still getting the hang of the hydraulics.

13,000 miles ago we had the 5th gear synchro go out and so the transmission was rebuilt. We got the car back and it was fine for those 13,000 miles until a few months ago. I was shifting from 2nd to third at about 7,000 RPM when the clutch stuck to the floor and I could not go into gear. The car would shift through the gears fine when off but the clutch did absolutely nothing when the car was running. There were no brake fluid leaks from anywhere.

We assumed it was the master cylinder and so we have just replaced it and we’re having the same exact issue. I have spent the last several house trying to bleed the clutch in every possible, including with the vacuum pump method. If you try to start the car in gear with the clutch in, it starts but you can hear a loud sort of scratching noise like it’s not fully disengaged. If you try to put it into gear while it’s running it starts to make the same scratching noise but clearly does not want to go into gear. Does anyone have any ideas?

And you didnt replace the clutch when the trans was fixed?
Ps the trans likely failed because of a clutch issue 13000 miles ago.

We actually took it to a transmission shop the first time because it’s my dad’s car and he was away for work and I was away for college. Guy said he replaced clutch, pressure plate, TOB, and all synchros. The car has 119,000 miles now.

Yes. Removed the transmission and the slave was in 2 pieces and was stuck closed. Replaced it and still have the same issue. Visually inspected the clutch and pressure plate without removing them and they looked okay.

Verify they are using the Ford TOB. Aftermarkets don't work efficiently. Is the clutch a stock replacement? If it is a performance clutch it might require a shim.
