Jesus F'n christ.. mine is now doing the EXACT samething as of this weekend, started grinding going into 5th , mainly on the downshift, and sometimes on the up shift, as well as popping out of gear.. now it grinds like CRAZY on the upshift and the down shift all the time, and has started grinding going into 6th, so now im just shifting from 4th to 6th.. this car is my daily driver and im sure all that shit floating around in the trans fluid isnt good on ANY other parts in the trans as well..I have allready had the entire clutch assembly replaced, the master and slave cylinder, and the pedal assembly at 6700 miles.. car now has 14k miles on it. .. car goes in the 29th of this month, allready called Ford customer care and got a case number, before I even made the appointment at the dealership. Im SO fing tired of this crap.. i really dont want an automatic at all.. but i fear that this shit is just going to keep happening over and over again. wtf..

I feel some Lemon law suits coming soon......given it is the same parts that keep failing.

I was one with this issue. They replaced my tranny do to me and said it was easier also cause the parts for the tranny are harder to get then a new tranny. They said that a synchro did go out. Mine did same thing as yours as well. Would kick out and would only go in with some nasty grinding. Mine did finally start going in fifth and staying in it but still with nasty grinding. Mine would grind sitting still trying to go into fifth.

My dealer was cool with mods i had. Servcie manager has a gt500 that has work and agreed with minor stuff i have done shouldnt have went out already. If you can take back to stock though to avoid any issues.

did you have a case number filed w/ Ford customer care by chance?

Odd.. they wouldn't replace mine. They insisted on having the tech tear it down to identify the problem, then rebuild it.

Yours was prob one of the first to go so they wanted to find the root of the problem. Know they know its just a garbage tranny and will replace then until peoples 3yr warranties are up

im not having any major problems with mine yet. I do get the 2nd gear grind in the cold tho.

My fear is that i wont see any problems untill im hard core mod'd then have a hard time getting it covered under the warrenty.

well im having a hard time understanding why they would put a tranny rated at 380 lb/ft behind a motor that makes 390 lb/ft.

sounds like an excuse to upgrade to a tremec magnum :beerdrink:

the clutch is the weak point. The trans is fine! Maybe im justy the lucky one but if everyone is having this issue then ford needs to man up and just give us the 6060 or t56 and eat the cost

id like to know the monetary difference between an MT-82 and a 6060...how much was saved going with the MT-82 over the 6060. personnally, i wouldve been happy to pay extra for a better transmission.

The 6060 has 2 overdrives ... the MT-82 just has one .... Does that matter?

A TR3650 should also be an easy cheap swap.

2 overdrives vs 1 doesnt matter to me.

i was just curious as to the cost difference for Ford. How much cheaper was it for them to go with the MT-82 over the 6060? If the difference that we the consumer wouldve seen wouldve been say...an extra $995 on the sticker (like going to an auto), then i think most of us wouldve ante'ed up the difference. i wouldve.

and going to a 3650 is a step down.

I paid a grand more for this car new then my Cobra was back in 2003. Why would they not have just stuck with the dam T56.

MY 2012 is estimated to be delivered on April 18th and I figure by the begining of the summer it will be back with a F'd tranny!!!!!!!!!!!! My only mods will be LT's catted X-pipe, lowered with a tune. Good I am scared now of this car and warranty issues. Might leave it stock for awhile and see what happens with the MT-JUNK tranny!

Do you guys with damaged trannys have aftermarket shifters??
