I seen on another fourm that guys will run them with a 3mm spacer and be fine. but i ask and they wont tell me if they rub or not. any info will be appericiated

I run a 19x10.5 +45 up front with no need for spacers on base brakes.
Can't speak to rear fitment, but front I don't rub or have any kind of clearance issues.

Hello KonaBlueBryar - I am running 20x10.5 ET45s (HRE FF01s) square on my Boss. 3mm spacer up front to clear the Brembos, 285/30/20 Michelin Pilot SuperSports up front and no clearance issues at all (trimmed the upper endlink bolt).

Was running 305/30/20 PSS in back, but I was getting slight rub on the tire at the edge of the tread where it meets the sidewall. I am lowered on coilovers and adjusted the panhard to pretty much dead even on both side. Just last week had some 295/30/20 PSSs installed in back and don't see any rubbing just yet, but I cannot say with confidence that the problem is solved. A 285 in back would probably be 100% perfect.

On behalf of Champale and his CLEAN Boss -

thnaks guys! and sorry for the wait to post. i ususally get on like once a day. Champale.. your car is on point brother. when you were talking i was wondering if you were the car that originally say on SVTP. there was a black s197 on HREs on all 4 corners but he was on air lol. your boss looks great. i was looking at the niche m162s and it looks like they are going to fit! since i dont have brembos i shouldnt need the spacers then.. thats what im picking up. i was thinking about running a 275/35/20 on the wheels but if i need to go to a 285/30/20 i dont see why not. pics of both cars look good with both wheel profiles. im on H&R Super Sports right now and they sit abnormally low compared to my brothers car that had the same set up.. i will be switching to some BC Coilovers shortly after the wheels. Thanks for the help guys!!

One last point - I think the 285/30/20 looks too small in overall height for the rear of the car. Even though the 295/30 is only .2" taller, it is also substantially wider than the 285 (at least in the Michelins) and it looks like a much bigger tire. The 305 was the perfect height (27.2" so .4" taller than the 285/30) but I can't live with the rub. I wish someone would offer a decent relatively lightweight wheel in 20x10.5 ET 50 or 52 so that I could squeeze the 305s back on.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

thanks! the only problem is i want a square tire setup too and im under the influence that i can only run a 285 in front because of the end link bolt. i will grind it down till it meets the threads but i think 285 is the largest i will go. im getting coilovers soon after so i will just crank down the rear until it fills the wheel well lol. at least thats my plan.

I completely understand about wanting to run square - I ran 285/35/19s square on 19x10s for a while.

But be aware that there are plenty of guys running 305s up front on Bosses and GTs with track setups (usually 18s and 19s). And the bigger diameter of the 20" wheels actually pretty much goes 'over' the bolt so you shouldn't have a problem if you wanted to try wider (wide 18" wheels put the tire sidewall right next to the bolt if you can visualize that).

If I start getting rub with the 295/30 Michelins, I have been told that the 285/35/20 R888 will clear and I may run those square.

give me a week or two and i will have 20x10.5 all around on 285/30/20s on BC Coilovers cranked down.

I am running 275/35/20 on 20x10.5s all the way around now.

And you shouldnt have any problems with the bolt if the offsets are right.

great! thanks guys!! you are a huge help! DRock, your car is sick! and Champale thanks for the info!

Another Question, DRock, i see your fitment is spot on and im sure the wheels im looking at have the same offsets. 20X10.5 with a +45 offset. if i end up running 285/30/20s do you think i would rub on the rear fenders if i was as low as you in the rear. i see the 275/35/20s tuck perfectly under the fender. Has it been rolled? i might roll the fenders just for peice of mind... the 285/35/20s that Champale was talking about running will most definatly call for a suspension adjustment right?

My rears are not rolled. I mean I coudl but i dont think it would make a difference. My rear offset is +37. THe wheel itself pokes out. The tire tucks right in. Since the 285/30/20 will fit the rim a bit better i believe my new offset will be +42 in the rear. and +33-34 up front. the 285/35/20s will rub in the rear with a +45 offset more than likely. Especially being low.

And thank you for the compliment sir!

so a 285/30/20 would probably be my best bet for the rears and fronts. less sidewall giving me a little more room in the rear. plus since ill have a higher offset my wheels will be set back under more than yours giving me more room for a slightly wider tire. thats just what im putting together in my head lol.

DRock - are you getting new rims with a 42mm offset for the rear and a 33mm offset for the front? If yes, what wheels are they?
