EDR vs Flash tune

Is the EDR (Event Data Recorder) cleared when flashing the ECU with a tune ?

I'm almost certian all data in the ECM is reset when you flash it.

If a reflash does not clear the EDR, a KAM reset should do it.
Also early EDRs only store data that were pulled seconds before and after a sizable impact (i.e. airbag deployment). So I would assume it constantly overwrites data until an accident event.

Do we know how long it records, in seconds ?

And, what if no bags open ?

Removing the battery also clear it ?
