That intake could be the issue, but I've heard your MAF needs to be oriented correctly.

I don't see how the intake could be the problem, the intake goes right to the blower. The mass air flow is on the intercooler piping going into the throttle body. So the two shouldn't be related in any issues, I wouldn't think.

Any exact location on which way the maf should be? Mine was basically just pointing forward

Thanks terry. I am leaning towards the maf also.

Just throwing it out in public to get more opinions.

I haven't heard of many. Although looking at the datalog my maf did peg and flatline once. It was higher in the rpms and that should be able to be tuned out but that was also strange for me to see

If its a tune issue I know it will be resolved by my tuner. I am just without a car so throwing this out there to see if anyone else had the issue. I've never seen or heard of this. All I see is people saying stock drivability and mine isn't close right now lol

Anybody having issues with hesitation or bucking during part throttle?

I have a very popular and reputable tuner working on my car and can't seem to get a clean maf reading. During the logs it's very choppy and "dirty" looking. It's really bugging me that I know I have a good tuner and I haven't heard of this issue coming from anyone else and there are so many paxton kits

yup its common.. It's a blow through setup, and this happens. most likely due to the angle of the maf.

Turn MAF to this exact clock position. Front of car is 12, back is 6, driver is 9, passenger is 3.

Wires from MAF should point 7:30.

You're welcome. ;-)

How many other stock MAF's have pegged/had issues with the Paxton?

Bad tuning. They are using a SAE defined pid which has a lb/min airflow limit. If they use the proper pid to monitor, they will see the stock MAF is not getting pegged.

Chalk it up to kindergarten tuning.

Lund Racing is notorious for this issue.

Lund has taken my car to over 1000rwhp on the stock maf before we got close to pegging.

When everyone else was pegging they were one of the few that could actually work around the maf issue.

probably because they started to log the right pid :D Or after he was told about 9 months to a year ago which pid to log :D

He must like you better, because theres three paxton/vortech lund cars here locally that like to surge and stall, all were told to log that same pid up until a few months ago.

The cars still have issues unfortunately.

I actually am thinking the maf might be clocked wrong. I looked at the picture in the instructions and the connector is pointed more towards the rear where I had mine pointed straight forward. I'm hoping that's all it is

Which way the MAF is pointing actually matters? I thought it only mattered if it pointed the correct flow way.

Idk I thought maybe I would get lucky, but changing the direction to the picture that the instructions show didnt help so maybe not.

The air flow definitely matters, the direction I guess not. Intructions tell you to face it pointed towards the driver side rear close to the radiator hose. But right under the picture says "orientation will vary"
