Thanks for keeping us posted on your progress.
That track must have a good photographer. He is getting great pictures of your car.

thanks! just saw your update - hopefully you can hit the track when it's prepped to see your progress!

+7 didn't feel too bad at the track, but I failed to put it back for the drive home. 80+ miles on that setting was a bit much, my back is sore this morning.

looking forward to your update(s) - get to the track dammit!

uca upper
lca middle
14-15psi cold in your QTP's
+6/+7 on your strange shocks
full loose on the strut
launch @ 6500-6800 (can't remember what your limiter is set at)
hit that 11.9999999

Thanks homie!, I have a rental at etown the 24th of oct. soooooon!
I really hope my QTP's are not dry or some shit they are pretty new, possibly over heated but don't think that would kill them.
why can't my car hook like yours! :thud:

1.63 is killing it :beerchug2:

went to test and tune at my local 1/8th mile track last night. Prep was non-existent, but I wanted to get a feel for the car with the ps delete belt installed before I head to MIR for midnight madness tonight

weight unk (prev 3570 lbs with full interior and 1/4 tank of gas)
pass seat and rear seat bottom/backs removed, 1/8 tank of gas
ps delete belt
front strut full loose
rear shock +7 clicks from full soft
15psi cold in rear tire
6500 rpm launch off limiter

prev best 60' 1.638, prev best 1/8 was 7.899 - I'm chipping away at it:

Kelly, I didn't make any shock/strut changes since the track prep was bad - I would've been just chasing my tail (add to that there were LOTS of cars on street tires going right through the water box and leaving the line wet).

Air and prep at MIR tonight should be great, so hopefully I can make adjustments and get my numbers to drop more. A 12.teen run is my goal, can't wait to hit the track...

Spun bad on the third pass after following several street cars that drove through the water box

I missed 2nd gear on the last pass, it may have bested my 12.339... There's still some tweaking to do with tire pressure and shock/strut settings. I may have a high 1.5x 60' left in the car, and maybe 12.2x ET by years end.

What is everybody using for motor/trans mounts? Still using the factory mounts or did you upgrade to something else?

Car has been 1.25 to the 60', wouldn't mind cutting a few more hundredths out.

- Shocks - Strange SA struts, QA1 SA rear shocks
- Rear springs - JPC/Eibach, these ones http://www.jpcracing.com/05-11-mustang-gt-gt500-rear-springs-only-pair/
- Front springs -2008 CJ
- Lower control arms - Custom set built by OKRC, heim joints
- Upper control arm - Racecraft UCA and mount
- posi - Spool
- Pan hard bar TRZ
- Pan hard bar support brace TRZ
- Gear size 3.50 (with a glide)
- Brand/ tire size MT 275 pro radial
- Clutch or which converter at what stall? PTC converter, launch around 3900
- Anti roll bar or which rear sway bar - TRZ Antiroll bar

Running the BMR K and control arms up front to drop weight up there. Car is very light, 3220 race weight. 51% front, 49% rear

Will have to do control arm measurements sometime this winter. Would really like to drop the 60' just a bit more without fear of the front end coming up, which so far it has been tame.

Just got some stuff that might interest you too. Not a one size fits all, they want hp and weight/weight distribution info so that they are valved appropriately. You can get titanium springs too if you're a baller. :naughty1:

These are stock eliminator legal, I think they have something different intended for super stockers where the stock spindle goes away and saves more weight, which could interest you more.

Looks very nice but way out of the current budget. As you can see from my current gear I'm having to do more with less. Someday I would like to move to coilovers and shocks that are valved for the weight as my car is way different than most s197's in that department. Would also be nice to be able to lower the car some, it sits pretty high currently. Guessing the front coilovers would weigh less than a strange strut and stock type spring setup.

The level the car is running at it probably could use some application specific suspension but unfortunately my budget might allow for viking DA's rears and that is about it.

Finally all ready to go back out. Got the LCA brackets on (not without a bunch of swearing, hardware store runs, and beer). Put them in the middle hole just because that is the only hole I could somewhat get the LCA to line up, so I went with it. Was tired of fighting the LCAs to get on. Also test fit the 295 hoosiers and went around the block. They work well. Got to mess with the shifts to bring them up a bit with the 28s, but should be good. Hoping to see some 1.6s with the circle D 4c and these mods.

if you have to move them again do one side at a time, and use a ratchet strap to keep the axle from moving (one end around the axle, other end on the trans mount). much easier this way :beerdrink:

I had to take the shock off, sway bar off, then lay on my back kicking the brake rotor as my wife tried to jam the bolt in. What a pain in the dick.
