Painting Vent Register Bezels

What did you use to paint the bezel? Is everything painted or just the chrome?

Just the chrome and inside. Outside/textured areas were masked off. Krylon RTA9218/Flat Black

I'm working on these vents as we speak! Got black ac vents with chrome rings and now getting the chrome rings to black.

I just took some pictures of it installed. The rings are a little more glossier than the vents but I think it looks cool - kind of pops out a bit. I may sand it down a bit at some point to match the vents. What do you guys think?

Not bad! I wanted to keep my rings chrome just because I didn't want to take out the main gauge cluster. IMO you'd have to do that for it to look right together. But you did a great job on it!

Thanks buddy - I agree with you about the main gauge cluster. That will be the next mod for me, but won't be able to do it for awhile due to school work. Too much school crap/exams going on this week.

What did you do to prep the pieces? I have a bunch of spare dash pieces and have played with painting the chrome vent rings in the past, painting them silver, but I want to get them black flat and maybe a gloss black to match the painted interior I have.

Flat black looks awesome imo, just did mine plus the white gages.
