Sweet.

You go to go for 10:00 saturday?

Yup, I'm good :)

Although, like I posted in the NE-chat thread, I'm not gonna have the new jackstands or the new spring compressors till next week ... is somebody else there gonna have them or should I rent the compressors from Autozone?

Picked up the new coil spring "sleeves" this morning too, so hopefully I now have all the parts I need.

I certainly don't have them, so I would rent.

Billy is our resident spring/strut expert, as he did this before. I just installed the stuff, never put it all together.

I did it without a spring compressor. If you are comfortable working with your car and just take your time its very doable and safe.

1. Jack the front up and place it on jack stands.
2. Remove the front wheels.
3. Remove the swaybar, abs line, and 10mm bolt holding the brake line to the strut.
4. place a jack under the front control arm and jack it up putting pressure on the strut rod.
5. Loosen the 2 bolts that hold the strut to the spindle.
6. Remove the top nut off the strut.
7. Slowly lower the jack (slowly and this is where you take your time) until it is all the way down.
8. Grab the strut and remove the 2 bolts holding the strut to the spindle.
9. Remove strut.
10. Remove the 4 13mm nuts that hold the strut mount to the body.

Its really easy.
8. Remove the

Lol... I'm 17 and I did all this work alone on a jack, old wheels, and bricks (Not jack stands), not the panhard bard though. It's a walk in the park, just time consuming.

Today I rented the spring compressors from Autozone, installed the new J&M adjustable panhard bar and centered the rear axle.

It was only off by 1-2/16" but it's centered NOW.

I'm assuming I'll have to re-center it after the Steeda Sport springs go on tomorrow ?

Yes you will definitely have the adjust the panhard bar again after you install the springs.

Cool. Expected since the geometry changes ...

I got a new floor jack today. It will get it's "maiden voyage" tomorrow :)

From Harbor Freight, a 75-lb Pittsburgh low-profile Rapid Pump :

^^ Be extra cautious the first dozen times loading it. If they fail, they usually fail relatively quickly. They do seem to be a good value though. Been rocking my China Freight aluminum racing jack for almost 2 years now.

Cool, thanks for the heads-up

I can't believe how much this thing weighs ... and they only charge $6.99 flat-rate shipping fee .... half the price of this thing must be to cover shipping costs ... lol

Great time today, thanks again Brian, Kevin and Billy for your help.
Would've been nice to get more done, but it is what it is. The temps and wind sucked!

By the way, I'm pretty sure that I do actually have the strut rod nuts that we thought I was missing ... the baggie with the nut/washer/plastic washer was in the mounts box, and we lucked out and opened the strut box that I had taken the baggie out of, so it seemed like they were missing ... oh, well, it wasn't meant to be today.

So,
This is what we started with:

2013-03-23_susp-partstools_zpsb5812811.jpg

We got the BMR relocation brackets done, and nothing else ... lol
The wind was vicious, and the 40-degree temps combined with the wind made it a COLD day in MA ... we'll re-try in a week or two, but for now my LCA's have been relocated :)

Some bad pics of the brackets, since I forgot to take pics while working on the car and had much better access :

A better pic of the new J&M panhard bar, taken before the brackets were installed :

I do have one question though :

I think we were supposed to install the large washer that comes with the BMR brackets onto the upper bolt on the passenger side.
We did not use this washer, and I'd LOVE to know how crucial it is.

Anybody have any input on that ?

Thanks guys :)

IMO, if it came with a washer, you should use the washer. There's a reason why. :)

The instructions, as it turns out, don't say anything about using the washer anywhere.
So here's what it looks like, I think it's good without it, IF that's where it was meant to go:

Today it was actually nice out, sunny and mid 40's ... lol ... so I got off my butt and installed the Roush chin splitter ... I love how it looks, I think it's exactly what the '13-'14 front-end needs to make it right.

A few quick pics, even though the car is quite dirty (forecast is rain for tomorrow, so no car wash for a few days) :

Looks good man! Can't wait to install the rest soon!

Thanks Brian ... yeah I can't believe how much nicer today was compared to yesterday ... even at 4PM when I was done it was still MUCH nicer than yesterday ...

Oh and I can say that the relo brackets are definitely helping plant those rear tires better ... I slammed my head into the headrest today leaving a stop light ... the unexpected lunge forward was fun ... lol

Since I like to take pics, here's the new strut dust boot and bumper kit :

Where did you order these from and how much? Are you using these instead of reusing the OEM ones for your Konis? Because I'm looking to do the same.

I got them from Autozone. "Gabriel" or "Duralast" brand, part number for the Gabriel brand is 143059, not sure if the same as Duralast, but you go in asking for the part #, they pull it right up on the computer screen :)

They list at $14.99/kit but rang up at $11.99 each

I also ended up ordering the FRPP bump stops from cjponyparts ... http://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-racing-bumpstop-jounce-bumper-kit-2005-2013/p/M5570A/

Thanks man for the help. Also check my thread cause I have another question about the spring perches if you have an answer. Also posted pics of the mounts.
