Just buy a 2004 Cobra specific T-56 Magnum, get LS-1 mid plate, buy swarr shifter and trans mount, custom driveshaft, all= T56 magnum for S-197 at your doorstep in less than 2 weeks.
And probably half the cost, but that Swarr shifter kinda negates the whole direct shifter thing, which is IMHO one of the biggest selling points of this over a 6060.

I'm going to wait since I probably won't drive my car any this year. If everything works out with work, I will have my car shipped to JPC to have this and a new long block installed.

I really don't see why it is taking so long for this trans to come out. Can't be to hard to make it fit S197's. I have been running a T56 Viper spec trans since late 2007. Other than the first gear is to high for what I want to do its been great. Although I did get tired of waiting for this to come out and just bought a new 6060 last week.

Still am dumbfounded that nobody from Tremec trolls this site and keeps us informed. Pathetic.

Hello S197Forum.com Members!

My name is Nate Tovey, and I am the Marketing & Communications Coordinator for TREMEC Transmissions in their Plymouth, Michigan field office. I'd like to thank you all for your interest in the upcoming T-56 Magnum for S197 applications (unofficially known as the 'S197 Magnum). I'd also like to thank member tigerhonaker for his message earlier today, alerting us to this thread.

As of today, the S197 Magnum is scheduled for release by the end of August (yes, that's August 2011. lol). For those of you who have been patiently awaiting details, I will be happy to give you a highly detailed explanation of both the product and the events leading up to its release, should it be okay with everyone here (don't want to hijack the thread without your consent.) Thank you again for your collective interest. I will monitor this thread personally as time permits to assist you with any questions you might have.

Thank you for your responce. I am one that could not wait, and bought a TR6060, and love it!. It would be great if Tremec could also offer an 6060 to magnum upgrade kit( output shaft, tailshaft housing, shift rod, any bearings or seals)
