So I went to a local mustang parts warehouse today and bought the pypes axle back system. Im not happy with the fitment at all, the passenger side fit decent but the drivers side is way off. anybody else with this kit have this problem? im gonna mess with it some more tomorrow. it does sound good, and i would think it only will sound better in time.

A lot of people have fitment trouble with Pypes axlebacks. They are all made in China so you get what you pay for. Just like the junk Chinese made tranny's in the 2011 Mustangs.

Hate to hear that...

I have pypes axle back (Violators) and they fit perfectly. Only took about 15 minutes to bolt them in, lol. I liked the quality (for the money) and sound of them so much that I bought and modified one of their fox Mustang kits to fit my T-bird.

Cool deal, that gives me hope. i gave up on fitment and just tightined everything down so i could hear them. but the drivers side hangs a little low and is almost touching the outer part of the exhaust cut out.

Only problem I ever had was that I developed a rattle around the clamp after a few thousand miles. Tightened it back up and have not had a problem since.

Hope you get it figured out.

Mine fit like crap and sounded even worse than they fit. The hangers are easy to fix but had to ditch them b/c of the sound. Fwiw I had them paired w/ a magnaflow catted x pipe. Now have borla stingers, much better. I cant even give the violators away locally. I will not ship them but for 90 bucks obo locally for a set of 3 month old $250 mufflers i would have thought they would have sold sooner.

However everybodies tastes are different so if ya like the sound then fixing the fitment is easy

30min r&r and they aligned choice. They sound like sh!t cold, but at operating temp they sound great imo. 3500 miles and I can't notice them being louder only driving the car once a week idk

does it get louder as it ages?

they do get a little louder after the packing burns out. And for fitment ya just gotta mess w/them. Typical Pypes stuff, cheap and fits kinda, but it doesn't take much effort to get them to fit. They do have a moderate amount of drone. You may like it, you may get used to it, you may hate it. But they're cheap enough. I had mine on for a year. Pulled em off and tried to sell them, no dice. Gave em to a kid doing a V6 true dual (like I had on my wife's car). He digs em. I think alot of people buy Pypes Violators when they first get a Mustang, kind of a rite of passage. Then we learn and move on, haha. You'll like em, it's a great, cheap first mod.

heres a pic of them. Your can see how the drivers side is to the left, I guess it looks ok, but thats the best i could get it after fighting it forever. I had to grind one the clamps off the stock mufflers cause the pypes clamp wouldnt tighten down to hold the muffler solid, plus i snapped the bolt in half!!

just curiuos, did you loosen the midpipe when you did the install? sometimes stuff has to be moved a little bit to get it to fit right. my fit a little off then once i loosened other parts of the exhaust i was able to get it to fit right. same with my pype bombs.

My violators didn't fit well at all. They have a fair amount of rust on them (i had them in Guam for two years). As for sound.... I dont like them. I have mine paired to a pypes offroad H pipe. Time for a new system for this guy.

ive heard that if the tip is too close to the fender, it may cause some heat damage there. just a word of caution though because i havent had this happen first hand

I had to adjust the over-axel pipe on my driver side to get my tip to align properly. I don't care for the bolt-on style aftermarket clamps, so I welded everything after the X. I can still drop the midpipe so I've never had an issue with the exhaust being in the way. Plus, bolt on exhausts tend to rattle, mine is solid. Pypes MMS FTW. Love the way it sounds, way too loud, but I just don't care. :)
