If you have the timing marks in the position that the service manual describes then it will be timed correctly. The #1 piston will always be at TDC when the crank timing marks are at the 6 o'clock position.

Dude your blower is backward
i know you're being sarcastic...but i've seen it before. i've seen vortech send out a kit to us with a standard head unit instead of a reverse and the blower was literally spinning backwards. Idk if this is the case in this situation, but since the blower is a new addition to the combination, why not check that out.

Also the bypass valve doesn't need to have anymore than an 8lb spring on it since whatever amount of boost you're going to be making will be adding pressure above the 8lb spring and forcing the bypass closed. it makes sense that the OP stated the bypass was making a bunch of noise during the pull because as he stated the engine was creating 11 inches of vacuum which will pull the bypass open. All the bypass needs is 5 inches and it should start to crack open, so 11 will definitely hold it open.

This blower was on another buddies car making boost so its not the head unit.

You started off on the right track with the bov explanation but then got a little messed up. With an 8lb spring like Jim has it will start to open around 15" and by 16-17"should be fully open. Any jab of the gas pedal should cause the bov piston to snap shut.

I highly doubt his problems are due to the bov, but it will be checked. He did a wire tuck as he installed the blower so I'm wondering if something got messed up. Tps voltage needs to be checked along with physically looking at the blades.

i checked on the spring and you are correct!!, what if the head unit is broken? check the head unit, maybe it broke the gear box?

Lol that would suuuuck. I can definitely see the head unit being flipped around backwards by mistake! I don't think this is the case, I was just being funny

by backwards i didn't mean installed backwards LOL. vortech, procharger, paxton etc. sell different rotation head units depending on the orientation of the bracketing for the car. old fox body's were mounted in a standard rotation and all the mod motor cars have been reverse rotation. obviously this is not the case as it was confirmed this kit was on another car and made boost...but hey you never know.
