I have an 06 GT with 77000 on it, it has all the bolt ons, lowering springs after market wheels, garage kept, no rain, snow etc. I never was a fan of the new body style, but now they've grown on me and I'm wanting a new 5.0 pretty bad. and I can't get it out of my head to go and trade for one..

things holding me back,: trans issues, tune issues, all the known problems
things making me want to trade, more power stock for stock, faster than my car w/bolt ons, new car.

so what do you guys think. Any reason to keep what I got, or any reason to let it go and get the 5.slow!

just looking for some opinions.

If you want a new one get it. I plan on it at the end of the year , my car has 24000 miles and I just put the vortech on 1500 miles ago but it's what I want so I plan on parting everything out and going big with a whipple

if you want it then get it. i like the new engine but i don't care for the looks of the exterior or interior as much as ours to justify buying it. besides, there is always going to be something newer and faster or more powerful.... but most of all, i love the cars i have. IMO, the 05-09 are soooo much better looking without even going into the price of new.

Coming from the guy whos sig is a picture of his car on a flat bed lol.

Agreed, you only live once and i absolutely love mine. Truly amazing world class cars.

Ha, I thought that exact same thing when I posted. In all fairness, the flatbed was not a result of my motor.

Really, though... I'm jelly. Do want teh five.oh

Cmon Eric dont be a hater, lol.

Haha, I can't help it. If you can't beat a 5.0, then mock and ridicule those who have one, right?

In all seriousness, OP. Yes, the new cars have issues, as do the old ones. What are you wanting out of the car? Killer power, nice interior straight out of the box? If I had the doll hairs, I'd buy a 5.0 and Whipple that bitch. Sadly, I'm just a broke Engineering student.

lol, yeah you guys all raise a good point, I do like my #8, and I do like my body style better..but they're growing on me so much, I'm so tempted.. there's a silver one at my dealer with black interior, 6spd, and my name on it.. I just dont' really want any payment, plus my other option is a rebuild with a supercharger. I could probably sell my car pretty quickly though, I've had several offers in the last few weeks. That doesn't help me any.. Gonna keep throwing this around and keep reading responses.

I don't really know.. I've always owned 5.0 foxes, so when the concept of a 5.0 was born again, I was on alert. That being said, I do want the power, and likewise, it'd be nice to buy one throw the whipple on and be done. I just want a fast car that is nice all around and drivable.. pretty much what I got, but I always want more.. so I don't know, agian, thats why I'm just throwing the idea around and seeing what people have to offer with their opinions.

My friend at the dealer told me my payment was gonna be 252 a month for 36 months which I don't consider bad, but if you decide to boost yours I'll sell you a vortech lol

Well, it sounds like you're happy with your current setup. Why not build a project instead of buying a new car? Have all the power you want, make the car however you want it.

I've owned about 100 cars so far and I'm 36 years old , I retired my 1987 turbo regal last year and bought my first mustang ever. A 2011 auto GT

I needed something that was fast and new to replace my mid 11 second daily driver and this new mustang is really fn fast for a few bolt on parts.

If you can wait till spring the dealers start to let them go cheap because the next years lineup is coming. I got 6500.00 off sticker and I bought it in late April

I'm saving up for a turbo kit or a procharger :)

Yeah, that's not really bad. I'd love to have a supercharger, I don't think I'd be looking at the 5.0's if I were boosted. I just get pissed when I go to the track and see an almost stock 5.0 running better than me when I'm full bolt-ons... I just can't justify 5-7 grand for a charger right now, when that could go towards a new car.

you make a very good point sir.

Just get one and drive the wheels off it!

It's really a nice motor, I'm getting 21 mpg combined city and highway, get about 300 smiles a tank full. Cant wait to try a road trip, it shows 26-29 mpg when I hit the trip going down the highway....

3.15 gears. 40 mph in first. 80 mph in second. 120 mph in third and there's 3 more gears :). Fun fun fun
